Four Missouri Medical Marijuana Dispensary Licenses Awarded to Bloom Medicinals

Posted: January 27, 2020 in Uncategorized

Facing tough odds yet again, Bloom Medicinals has won four more medical marijuana dispensary licenses. The licenses were awarded by Missouri’s Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).

The competition was tough and 1,163 companies applied for just 192 permits. Bloom Medicinals will be opening the medical marijuana dispensaries in Springfield, Cape Girardeau, O’Fallon and Plattsburg.

“Today’s milestone represents over a year of effort by many people to put the final piece in place so that appropriately screened patients in Missouri can receive medical marijuana,” said Randall Williams, DHSS director, in a news release published by the Springfield News-Leader. “We thank all who have helped us to date, and we will continue to listen so that we can best serve the people of our state.”

The Springfield News-Leader also noted that the medical marijuana constitutional amendment passed by voters in Nov. 2018 allows for 192 dispensaries. Each of Missouri’s congressional districts gets 24 of them.

“We’re elated once again to win more medical marijuana dispensary licenses,” said Nicole van Rensburg, CEO of Bloom Medicinals. “We recently won two infused-processing licenses, to make medical marijuana products, and two cultivation licenses in Missouri. We’re honored that DHSS has shown so much faith in us with these licenses and look forward to providing jobs during the construction phase, staffing the facilities and providing Missourians with affordable, quality products. Our facilities will also offer the friendly, knowledgeable care we’re known for and blend in with and reflect the neighborhoods we serve.”
